This is the review that I am currently working on -- a review of To the Moon, Katawa Shoujo, and Spec Ops: The Line. These three games, time capsules all, had messages that were felt best expressed through critical subversions of their respective genre tropes. Do they stand the test of time? Should we continue to make games in genres that we straight up don't like? I'll tell you what I think soon enough.
This will be an attempted Deleuzo-Guattarian analysis of speedrunning, speedrunning culture, perhaps with a focus on the endlessly charming Lovely Planet, although focus is not my strong suit. The title is a Žižek reference.
This will be a POSTAL 2 review. This is the required reading.
